What campers say

Stephen C Foster State Park offers a peaceful, well-maintained campground with newly renovated RV areas, large level sites and reliable hookups. Restrooms and oversized showers are clean, and ADA-accessible sites and paved paths make much of the park wheelchair-friendly. Staff are consistently described as helpful. Wildlife viewing is a major draw — alligators, deer and owls — and kayak/canoe rentals let you explore the swamp when water levels permit. Expect a remote location with limited cell service and bring supplies; drought or construction can limit boat/boardwalk access and reduces mosquitoes but also lowers water levels.

📖 About This Campground

Stephen C. Foster State Park in Fargo Georgia offers partial and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping at the primary entrance to the legendary Okefenokee Swamp -- one of Georgia's seven natural wonders. Spanish moss-laced trees reflect off the black swamp waters, while cypress knees rise upward from the glass-like surface.
