Shawnee Forest Campground is a well-kept, peaceful RV park with friendly, attentive owners and staff. Sites are generally long, level, and well spaced, with recent gravel and new picnic areas. Bathhouses and showers are consistently described as clean and roomy. Paved walking paths circle ponds and former golf fairways, making it a good spot for dogs and easy hikes; Tunnel Hill trail and Shawnee National Forest attractions are nearby. The park is convenient to the highway without intrusive noise. A few visitors noted low tree branches for very tall rigs and sewer/water hookups that favor the campsite entrance, which may require extra hose.
