Schodack Island State Park is a quiet, well‑maintained campground with strong access to the Hudson River, a roomy boat ramp, and extensive trails ideal for birdwatching, hiking, fishing and kayaking. RV sites generally offer electric service and are shaded by trees, though many sites are modest in size and some sit close to the road; there are water stations and a central dump but no sewer hookups at individual sites. Restrooms are reported clean and showers are button‑timed (temperatures can be variable). Staff and facilities are friendly and accessible in places; expect summer bugs and plan accordingly.
