Beautiful place to stay. We stay there long term in winter and we do run into some issues with tenters and the occasional rude campers. Also, dont plan coming during mid-mid March when they have the Pow Wow. Very noisy and you have to be moved to accommodate the event. Not as well monitored as I would like but for the most part a lovely place. Gate works most of the time but always seems to get damaged. Nice laundry facility and friendly staff.

What campers say
Savannas Recreation Area is a peaceful natural preserve with abundant wildlife — herons, otters and the occasional alligator — and paved trails that make wildlife viewing and walking accessible. The park offers tent sites and RV pads with electric/water/septic hookups at reasonable county rates, plus laundry, dog parks and pet waste stations. Staff are generally helpful and friendly. Practical tradeoffs include campground‑style bathhouses that several guests have found in need of plumbing updates or reliable hot water, occasional construction nearby, and some sites a long walk from amenities. Overall, a budget‑friendly spot for nature-focused camping.

A wonderful place to camp in a RV. Full hookup sites backed right up to the water with abundant wildlife, gators and turtles. Nice trails through the park and a quiet but well stocked town nearby. Gated at night the park is very peaceful and safe. Verizon 4G worked great and we paid about $25 per night for 50amp full hookup. As the regulars said "don't tell anyone about this place"... whoops.
