Samuel F. Pryor III Shawangunk Gateway Campground in Gardiner New York offer 50 tent only campsites (26 hike-in and 24 drive-in) managed by the American Alpine Club, in cooperation with Mohonk Preserve. A 5 minute drive from rock climbing trails in the popular climbing area, the Shawangunks or "The Gunks" for short. Hot showers and restrooms available. No RV's or large vehicles are allowed; amenities include: pay showers, covered pavilion, fire ring, drinking water and more
