At Sakatah Lake State Park campsites are well maintained, often private, and the grounds and restrooms are kept clean. The park offers good hiking and direct access to the Sakatah bike trail, plus quiet, wildlife-rich surroundings that many visitors enjoy. Expect seasonal tradeoffs: mosquitoes can be heavy in wet years and the lake shoreline is sometimes weedy, so swimming conditions are limited. Staff are reported as helpful, but RV users should note the dump-station turn can be tight for larger rigs. Overall a tidy, peaceful spot for hiking, biking, and relaxed camping in southern Minnesota.
