Renegade Campground is a peaceful, family-friendly lakeside spot with convenient access to a boat launch, fishing and nearby trails. Sites tend to be flat and work well for RVs; restrooms are kept clean and campground hosts are regularly described as friendly and attentive. Tradeoffs include limited shade, uneven or unpaved sites and roads, and a few reports of water or toilet outages during busy holiday weekends that staff addressed. Weekends can feel crowded and tent campers may find fewer level areas, so plan accordingly for setup, peak demand and nightly fees.

Renegade Campground near Heber City, UT. Renegade Campground is located on the shore of beautiful Strawberry Reservoir at an elevation of 7,700 feet. Visitors flock to Strawberry for its great fishing, boating and trail opportunities. The campground is located on Strawberry Reservoir. Setting is rolling sage brush hills & valleys. Sites are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. No power or telephones. Improvements included paved roads, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station, and garbage service. Popular activities include fishing, boating, canoeing, jet skiing, water skiing and wildlife viewing. Trails available outside campground.

Facilities

The campground offers several single and double-family campsites. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided but there is no electricity or phone. Sites are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Improvements included paved roads, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station, and garbage service. There are no shower facilities at this campground.

Natural Features

The campground is set among rolling sagebrush covered hills just above Strawberry Reservoir. Most campsites offer sweeping views of the pretty reservoir and surrounding hills. The campground has no trees and no shade. Stands of aspens and pines cover the distant hillsides.

Recreation

Strawberry Reservoir offers excellent boating, water skiing and canoeing. Anglers fish for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and Kokanee salmon. Renegade Day Use Area, 1/4 mile below the site, provides great beach access, a marina and boat ramp. Other popular activities in the Strawberry area include hiking, biking and horseback riding.
