Ponderosa Campground is a small, well-kept RV park along the Conejos River that visitors describe as peaceful, scenic, and wildlife-rich. Hosts are consistently praised as friendly and helpful; facilities are clean and organized — heated restrooms, laundromat, dump station, and trash service are available. Many sites sit riverside with water and 30-amp service while others offer full hookups away from the river. The park is popular for trout and fly fishing (the owners carry flies) and offers access to hiking, stargazing, and OHV areas. Note: wooded roads can be tight to drive, it’s fairly remote with larger stores 30–40 miles away, and one visitor mentioned a small per-child nightly fee.
