What campers say
Pickett CCC Memorial State Park offers quiet, scenic forest camping with well-maintained historic and modern cabins that visitors generally describe as clean, comfortable, pet-friendly and equipped for cooking. The park is popular for stargazing—dark skies and a nearby astronomy field draw meteor-shower viewers—and for hiking to features such as Hazard Cave, Indian Rockhouse, Needle Arch and views of Natural Bridge (viewpoints may be available when trails are closed). Water activities include kayaking, fishing and a small beach. Expect limited cell reception, occasional trail closures for storm cleanup, and helpful park staff plus a visitor center for information.
