The Pat Thomas Park campgrounds will now have an additional 20 acres, allowing for even more camping and fishing in perhaps the most peaceful place in the county.

The community gathered by Lake Talquin on Thursday to celebrate a renovation that, for them, has been a long time coming.

County Commissioner Sherrie Taylor said, “It’s beautiful, it’s inviting, it’s enriching. We’re growing and we’re prospering in the right direction.”

Officials say the renovations should hopefully be completed within the next 6 to 9 months.
