What campers say
Passaconaway Campground is a small, rustic site popular for river access and trail proximity along the Kancamagus. Campsites tend to be spacious, wooded and offer good privacy; stargazing is often excellent and there is effectively no cell service. Facilities are basic — outhouse/pit toilets, no showers — and water access is inconsistent: some spigots provide cold, pure water while others have been reported out of service. Management/host presence and site maintenance appear variable from season to season, so expect a low-cost, roughing-it experience with occasional maintenance or cleanliness tradeoffs.
