What campers say
Palouse Falls State Park offers dramatic canyon and waterfall views that many visitors find worth the detour. The site is accessible with ample parking, restrooms and picnic areas with tables and grills, though you do need a Discovery Pass for parking. A short network of viewpoints and a roughly one-mile round-trip walk provide several lookout options; however trails are limited, so expect a relatively brief visit. The last few miles are on a gravel road but generally manageable. The falls' thunderous sound and occasional wildlife sightings (birds, marmots) add to the experience. It can be busier on holiday weekends.
