Palmetto Island State Park is a well‑maintained, family‑friendly campground with neatly separated sites framed by plants and trees, attentive camp hosts, and clean bathhouses with laundry. Many sites offer full hookups and level pads, making it convenient for RVs. Amenities include a splash pad, kayak/canoe rentals, a boat launch and nearby fishing, plus pleasant spots for biking and walks. Expect a somewhat remote location with limited nearby services, spotty slow park Wi‑Fi but usable AT&T signal. Mosquitoes can be heavy at times and some trails may be wet after rain, but overall it’s an affordable, pleasant state park option.
