Tradeoffs include older sites that are often tight, gravelly, or uneven with shared water hookups and limited tow-vehicle parking; a number of visitors reported issues with site assignments, occasional power or security problems, and uneven customer-service experiences. Palace Campground in Galena Illinois offers full and partial hookup RV and tent camping adjacent to the highway. Paved roads with gravel/ grass parking pads in a well kept campground. Easy access for most sized RVs the park has a pool and mini-golf course. A Walmart Supercenter is located next door but you would not know it when inside the park.
