Painted Rocks Campground, just off CO-67 near Woodland Park, is a small, well-kept site known for its colorful rock formations and short walk to Manitou Lake. Visitors frequently praise a friendly, attentive camp host who sells reasonably priced firewood on site. Campsites are spaced apart, which contributes to quiet evenings and natural distancing; the park has mostly reserved sites with a few first-come spots. Amenities include potable water, vault restrooms kept very clean, and regular trash service. Sites vary in shade and generally fit two vehicles.
