What campers say
Oyster Point Campground is a small, budget-friendly site on the Newport River with roomy, mostly private campsites and pleasant water views. It’s popular for kayaking, canoeing, hiking (Neusiok Trail access), fishing from boats, and wildlife watching. Facilities are primitive: pump water, vault toilets, picnic tables and aging fire rings; there are no electrical hookups. Hosts are generally described as friendly and check-in is flexible. Common tradeoffs include a rough, pothole-prone access road, occasional aircraft or roadside noise, bugs, and some spotty maintenance or litter and overgrown trail sections reported by visitors. T‑Mobile service has been reported as good.
