There were only about 12-15 sites occupied and 3 of those were hosts. Has a lot of hiking and biking trails. The lake is within walking distance from all sites for fishing. The parking pads are fairly level. However, many sites are either small and wide or narrow and deep. Good cell signal. Sites are nice, but not much separation. I was lucky during my stay as there were only a handful of other rigs in the park.

Oak Mountain State Park offers varied outdoor recreation — extensive hiking and biking trails, mountain-bike/BMX facilities, a treetop trail and bird sanctuary, and lake access with a family-friendly beach and water-sport rentals. Campground features include mostly level, spacious sites with picnic tables, fire rings, clean restrooms and showers, and laundry plus a camp store. The park's scenery (Peavine Falls, overlooks) and wildlife viewing are highlights. Practical tradeoffs: much of the park requires driving between areas, some trails and the road to Peavine Falls are steep/rocky, and laundry/change services run on limited hours. Overall well suited to families, anglers, and trail users.
