What campers say
Northwest River Park is a pleasant, well‑shaded spot for kayaking, fishing and short hikes. Staff are generally helpful and check‑in moves quickly; kayak and canoe rentals are affordable and the water is beginner‑friendly with plenty of turtles and wildlife to spot. Trails are well marked though some main paths are gravel and can be harder to walk. The campground is small, gated and sites are mostly level but large rigs may need to maneuver around trees; some sites share a single water spigot without a splitter. Be aware of park rules about adults in boats, occasional construction noise, and seasonal bugs.
