Niobrara State Park offers sweeping hilltop views, open prairie trails and easy river access. Cabins on the upper bluffs provide the best panoramas, while the vehicular campground lies lower by the river and highway. Trails include elevation changes; bring water and good shoes, and river routes are popular for wading or cooling off. Facilities are generally clean, with separate tent areas, cabins, coin-operated showers (low pressure) and a single RV dump station, so expect occasional waits. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful; horseback rides and stargazing programs are available. Be prepared for summer heat and mosquitoes on lower riverside sites.
