Mt. Madonna County Park is a large, wooded campground with well-maintained facilities, varied site types (tent, RV, yurt), clean restrooms and hot showers, and friendly staff. The trail network is extensive and scenic—redwoods, ferns, and frequent wildlife sightings such as banana slugs, deer and birds—but some routes can be steep, muddy or rocky. Microclimates bring cool fog and heavy dew that can leave low-lying sites damp. The park is relatively close to supplies and attractions, yet weekends can be busy and late-night noise has been reported. Wood is available for purchase and dogs are allowed on leash.
