Malaekahana Beach Campground is a low key, well maintained oceanfront park with sites a short walk from a sandy beach and strong surf more suited to viewing and surfing than casual swimming. Many sites include a picnic table, potable water taps, flush toilets, and outdoor showers; rangers and staff are attentive with check in and campsite upkeep. Expect wild chickens and morning roosters, gated access that closes in the evening, and to bring your own grill or fire pit and flashlights. Some lower sites sit in gulch like terrain that could collect water in heavy rain. Overall quiet, family friendly, and rustic.
