What campers say

Lowden State Park is a well-maintained, wooded campground with scenic views and easy access to the Black Hawk statue. Campsites offer plenty of tree cover and privacy, especially the non-electric and walk-in sites, while electric sites are convenient but can be closer together. Facilities are clean and adequate: gravel parking, older but tidy restrooms with showers, water spigots and an RV dump station. The nearby small town has a few shops and coffee options. Expect quiet hours and limited shoulder space for biking on the road into town. Overall a peaceful, family-friendly spot for woodland camping.
