Well-maintained, attractive campground with large sites, good for families, dogs and RVs; hosts are helpful and the loops are paved with a convenient dump station. There are marked hiking trails nearby and generally clean restrooms, though several visitors reported occasional outages and reliance on porta-potties or bringing water. Many sites are close to the highway, so road noise can be noticeable; quieter spots are available further in. Expect solid fire rings and safe sites, but be aware of seasonal insects in late summer. Overall a tidy, convenient base for exploring the Uinta National Forest with practical tradeoffs.

📖 About This Campground

Lodgepole Campground near Wallsburg, UT. Lodgepole Campground is located in scenic Daniels Canyon just a short drive from Heber, Utah, and Strawberry Reservoir at an elevation of 7,800 feet. Campers enjoy fishing and hiking in the canyon and day-tripping to Strawberry.

Facilities

The campground offers portable toilets, as well as group picnic shelters. Loop A contains individual sites, while Loop B contains two group camping sites, one for up to 50 people, the other for up to 130 people.

Natural Features

The campground is situated in a beautiful mountain setting along Daniels Creek. A forest of pine, fir and aspen covers the area, and willows line the creek bank. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape.

Recreation

Daniels Creek is stocked with rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Foreman Hollow Trail begins in the campground, offering easy to moderate hiking on a 4-mile loop with excellent views of Strawberry Reservoir, Strawberry Peak and Twin Peaks.
