What campers say
Llewellyn Johns Recreation Area is a small, well-kept campground with electric back-in sites, picnic tables, fire rings with grills, potable water spigots and vault toilets. Sites can accommodate mid-to-large motorhomes and a few flat grassy tent spots are better than others. It’s generally quiet and clean, and works well for an overnight, fishing stop or when nearby parks are full. Practical tradeoffs: sites feel cramped when busy and the park sits near a highway (some vehicle noise), and there’s a separate nightly park entrance fee in addition to the camping fee. A seasonal store is across the road; cellular service can be limited.
