Pretty location with easy access for our large RV. Great views of the lighthouse and access to a small beach within the marina. A short walk or bike ride over to the city playground. Verizon 4G data and phone was solid. We might have returned again based upon the above but will not based upon the following. Someone tried to steal our bikes. We utilize a dual locking bike rack and had a cable lock through the bikes as a visual deterrent. Went out to ride the bikes and found the cable cut clean through. Had our rack been a "normal" rack the bikes would have been gone. Interestingly enough while inspecting the attempted theft a "neighbor" approached and told us that lots of bikes get stolen here all the time. A few other people in town said the same thing that "anything not bolted down is grabbed quickly by thieves". This theft issue most likely applies to all the campgrounds along the harbor area as they are all open and expose your RV to full sight-lines from passerby. Be aware when staying here not to leave anything of value out and unprotected. We reported the attempted theft to office staff. We will not return to this location.

What campers say
Lighthouse Cove RV Park sits right on the water near the lighthouse and bike paths, with full hookups and an easy base for exploring Jedediah Smith Redwoods and nearby Fern Canyon. Many guests praise friendly, helpful staff and a well-kept, no-frills layout; bathrooms and showers have been updated or temporarily relocated during renovations. However, several reviewers report nearby homeless encampments and multiple theft incidents (bicycles, generators, even motorcycles), and limited on-site security or lighting. If you stay, secure valuables, verify registration and bathroom access procedures, and expect a practical campground rather than a resort.
