What campers say
Leroy Percy State Park is a small, quietly scenic spot centered on a lake, offering clean, well-kept campsites and simple cabins with screened porches. It’s peaceful and family- and pet-friendly, with fishing and an open disc-golf area and notably dark skies for stargazing. Facilities are basic but generally maintained — bathhouses and hookups are available. Practical tradeoffs: mosquitoes can be heavy, especially after dusk, and swimming is not advised because of alligators. Best for a low-key weekend getaway rather than a high-activity destination.
