What campers say

Leech Lake Recreation Area is a well-maintained, scenic Army Corps campground with large, wooded sites and paved roads. Facilities are clean — roomy restrooms with showers plus free washers/dryers — and many sites offer electrical hookups; a few provide full hookups and water fill is available at the dump station. The boat launch and lake access suit anglers and birders, and there’s a bait/firewood shop across the highway. Expect helpful staff and good cell signal in many spots. Mosquitoes can be a seasonal nuisance, and only one vehicle can use the dump at a time, so plan accordingly.

A very nice ACOE park with new facilities and a boat launch to Leech Lake and a safe harbor for your boat. Most sites have electricity and a few are full hookup sites. Water can be shared at several sites but bring plenty of hose. The sites are mostly back in with a few pull throughs and all are shaded and nicely separated from adjacent sites. All have picnic tables and fire rings. I have stayed their several times in 2015 in a motorhome.
