Lazy D Campground in Altura is a family-focused, riverfront spot with many on-site activities—river tubing, horseback riding, a pool, playground, jumping pillow and a small hobby farm—and guests often note friendly staff and well-kept amenities. River-edge sites are scenic and relaxing. Tradeoffs include crowding at peak times and allowance of outside visitors, which can make the pool and tubing busy and occasionally short on equipment. Some sites lack hookups and a few visitors felt tent camping was pricey given limited services. Booking ahead and budgeting for activity fees is recommended.
