📖 About This Campground

Lakeside RV Campground in Provo Utah is adjacent to the state park and Utah Lake. Full and partial hookup RV and tent camping in a well kept setting the park caters to both long term guests and short term visitors. Access to the multi-use trails is available just down the road. Located away from the city but close enough to get there in 5 minutes the park is reasonably priced. Sites range from perfect for tents to perfect for large RVs. A playground, pool and laundry are available along with propane filling too. Paved roads throughout the park are wide enough for larger rigs. There are speed bumps. Sites are situated on packed gravel with a mowed grass area and picnic table available. Some of the backin small RV/ tent sites have fire pits (check with office for any burn bans). Pull thrus are mostly buddy sites with neighboring RVs facing opposite directions to attach to a utility pool and then sharing a yard area. Plenty of room between sites the park is nicely maintained. A stocked store is available in the office as are restrooms with showers. 2 group camping areas with pavilions are available. there is a gated dog run and access to a dirt trail on the levy between the park and the Provo River. Canoes/ kayaks can be launched into the Provo River in this area where the water is slowed to a gentle current as it enters the lake.

A truly beautiful RV park. They keep the place in top shape even with a large group of long term guests. The sites are pull thru style on packed gravel with a nice grass area and picnic table. Their definition of "heated pool" is not what my definition of heated pool would be unless heated means via sun radiation. Office staff is cordial but not friendly. Provo Airport is just across the way and there are major expansions going on there with two large hangars being constructed. Reading local news there has been massive expansion with plans in the future to turn it into a regional hub with many commercial flights. In years past it was mostly small planes landing and taking off but during our stay there was a noticeable increase in big jet traffic with the accompanying noise; it will be too bad if the airport starts to over-power the campground. Just a few years ago this place used to be a little ways away from civilization but the Salt Lake City and Provo areas are booming, expanding and now encroaching on these more rural areas. The Provo River bikeway is accessible just west of the park and allows for an excellent traffic free bike ride up towards Provo Canyon (fit cyclists can ride all the way up and into the canyon). We paid $40 per night for a weekly rate leaving on Sunday of labor day weekend. The park has a large flow of overnight guests in later in the day and out in the morning. During mid-day and mid-week, in fact most of the time, the park is very quiet and peaceful. We will stay again Verizon 4G cell phone and data coverage is good but a repeater is recommended for better data speeds. We did not use their wifi.

Our go to in the Provo area this park is well run, easy to get in and out of and has huge sites available too. In late fall the trees are all a golden orange and look magnificent in the setting sunlight. Verizon 4G works but the tower is a ways off so the signal was hit or miss. We paid $35 per night. Unlike the previous reviewer we found he long term rigs to be in good shape and everything was clean. They were very active (albeit noisy) in cleaning up all the fallen leaves... no easy task.

A nice RV park just a few blocks from the state park. Grassy with lots of trees the place feels more like a park than a private campground. Would be very nice if they forced a few of their longer term guests to pick up their trash around their rigs (literally 4-5 out of 30 or so are ruining the entire ambiance). Stayed for a week to visit family and noticed that the park was very popular. they have some really long pull-thrus up front that seemed choice for folks with long rigs looking for an overnight.
