Do not stay here. At check-in we were notified that the gate would be pad locked from 10pm till 6am. This gate is almost 2 miles from the campground leaving you trapped in or out; I would never willingly walk into a prison so we demanded a full refund and left. A few days later we returned to check out the campground; it is nice with full hookup sites on 3 loops. Dirt and trimmed weeds with views of the lake. Contacted county and they are open to making changes if people speak up. Letter on way.

What campers say
Lake Skinner is a family-friendly recreation area with a large lake, playground and splash pad, picnic areas and miles of hiking and biking trails. Campgrounds are grassy and generally well maintained; rangers and hosts are described as helpful, and there’s a camp store and laundry. Boating and fishing are popular, though there are additional rules and fees and occasional conflicts with boaters. Restrooms are basic and can be limited or a long walk from some sites. Expect limited cell service, wildlife sightings (deer, coyotes) and dark, quiet nights during weekday stays. Dog-friendly and good for day trips or longer stays.
