Lake Amador Resort is a popular, family-oriented lakeside camping area with dependable fishing, rentable boats, a cafe/shop, a kids swimming pond and extensive disc golf courses. Many guests praise friendly staff, clean grounds and varied campsite options, though lakeside spots fill quickly and reservations are recommended. Expect fees for daily fishing and parking and reasonable full-day boat rentals. Tradeoffs include morning crowding and speedboats that can produce large wakes, and shore fishing can be limited or difficult when water levels are low. A few visitors reported campsite maintenance issues, while others found the site well kept.

Lake Amador Resort in Ione California offers 73 lakeside full-hook-ups and a primitive campground for tents. Spend a day on the lake fishing. Or pass the hours at your private site with excellent TV reception and a beautiful view of Lake Amador. Explore the 400-acre lake, with 13 1/2 miles of shoreline with your own boat or rent one from the resort. No speed limits, just no water skiing or jet skis allowed. Fish 24 hours a day 7 days a week, year round.
