This has potential to be a very nice place to camp. But currently it is not . The staff do NOT know what they are doing or even whats available. They argue with each other. The campground needs work. The road is narrow with trees close to the road to include the site markers which makes manuevering very stressful and difficult. Sites are very uneven and often impossible to level your rig. There are a few drive thrus that are full hookup and look nice, but are few and booked. They too are semi difficult to get into because of trees. Trees need to be thinned out and trimmed. Sites have trees making slideouts impossible. Overhanging limbs on the road offer possible damage in the future. Parking or backing into any site is hazardous due to how tight it is, trees, and the site markers. The dump site is only accessible coming in. The going to the out side is dangerous to RVs over 10 feet.. Recommendations to Hessel.... Hire a crew to gut alot of the trees and stumps, widen the road in to at least 15 feet. Trim off all trees limbs below 14 feet. Level the spots. Gravel, crush n run would be great. Make the rv spots wide enough and deep enough for an rv to back in and use a slideout. This is a beauiful spot, but just needs some dedicated work.
