Managed by the DNR, this campground is within easy walking distance of dunes and the Lake Michigan shoreline. Campsites are paved, though sloping, requiring leveling. Firewood restrictions are in place due to insect infestations, and local firewood is available at the camp store on site. Bathrooms and showers are clean and modern. Camp sites are somewhat close, and this campground, due to its proximity to the lake shore, is often full requiring reservations well in advance. Many wonderful trails through the dunes are close by. On warm summer days, the beach area can be very crowded.
