What campers say
Horseshoe Point Park is a well-kept Corps-managed campground on Lake Philpott with sandy swim areas, a boat launch, and scenic mountain views. Sites are generally spacious with tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings and showers in the restrooms. The water is clear and good for kayaking and fishing, and the park accepts the federal annual pass. Practical tradeoffs: camping is seasonal (May–Sept for reservations), some sites sit on steep overlooks that make lake access difficult, tent stakes can be hard to drive, and restrooms or water hookups may require a short walk. Watch posted length limits and narrow approach lanes for RVs.
