What campers say

Hood Creek Campground sits on the northeast side of Hyalite Reservoir with excellent lake and mountain views, easy water access, a boat launch and nearby hiking. Sites are generally well-spaced with trees, fire rings, tables and bear boxes; vault toilets and potable water pumps are available but there are no showers. Hosts are described as helpful and post availability, and fees have increased. Practical tradeoffs: the final mile of road is rough but passable in two-wheel drive, insects can be bothersome, and some visitors report noise and weekend crowding with larger RVs or late-night parties.
