What campers say
Hell Creek Recreation Area is a scenic, isolated lakeside campground with spacious sites, good boating and fishing, and helpful marina/campground staff. Expect a long, rough 25–26 mile dirt road with heavy washboarding that can add significant travel time and stress for trailers. Sites commonly offer electric only; water and sewer are handled at shared faucets and dump stations. Bathrooms and coin showers are available though machines can be unreliable, and tap water has been described as poor tasting — bring drinking water. Cell signal is minimal. Boat rentals, a fish‑cleaning station, and occasional late‑night noise have also been reported.
