Golden Memorial State Park offers scenic lakefront surroundings popular for hiking, fishing, kayaking and picnics. The park has basic cabins on the water that are clean and suitable for a low‑key stay; visitors should plan to bring bedding. Sites are generally small, so large RVs may be constrained. Many trails and areas are maintained and staff are described as friendly and helpful, but some facilities show age—restrooms, showers, docks, playgrounds, and a few bridges have been reported as worn or damaged. Fishing is good. Be aware of occasional access or gate/office hours issues and limited state funding for repairs.
