📖 About This Campground
Gold Creek Campground is an ultra-remote, deeply forested wilderness haven nestled in a rugged canyon within the Bitterroot Mountains. Located roughly 15 miles east of historic Stevensville, Montana, this small and peaceful 4-site canyon retreat provides an off-grid dry camping experience tailored specifically for tents, camper vans, and small trailers up to 25 feet. Bordered by the pristine waters of Gold Creek, the campground operates entirely on a free, first-come, first-served basis with zero camping fees. Serving as an exceptional launching pad for multi-use backcountry exploration, it offers immediate access to expansive trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-road motorcycling that lead deep into the Skalkaho Wildlife Preserve, making it a perfect primitive escape for high-clearance adventurers.
