Glidden Lake State Forest Campground is a small, rustic lakeside campground with about twenty-plus sites, several with direct water access and a sandy beach on a clear, cold lake. Facilities are minimal — vault toilets and a hand pump — and there is no trash service, so pack in/pack out. The lake is quiet with a boat ramp suited to canoes, kayaks and small boats; an extensive trail system and a boardwalk/footbridge add hiking options (occasional maintenance closures). Sites are generally spacious but some sit close to the access road. Expect bugs in summer and a peaceful, wildlife-filled setting.
