A recent expansion (52 new campsites opened March 2026) added modern restrooms and showers, and some waterfront sites allow launching directly from campsites. The park supports fishing, hiking, and mountain biking, and staff are often described as friendly and helpful. Trails and picnic areas are photogenic, though some trail sections are exposed on hot days and a few cabins show minor maintenance needs. Overall, a peaceful, activity-rich destination.
