Fox Ridge State Park offers wooded scenery and a range of hiking and paddling opportunities. Trails work for multiple skill levels, though maintenance is uneven—main routes are generally passable while some side paths can be overgrown. The park has two canoe/kayak launches (the south ramp is reported in better shape), river and small lake access, and pleasant picnic and playground areas. Campgrounds feel mostly private with level sites, 30A electric hookups, fire rings and picnic tables; restrooms and showers are kept clean and hosts are friendly. Not all sites are reservable, so availability can be uncertain at busy times.
