The campground is a small, well-kept, family-friendly site on the St. Louis River with many waterfront sites, canoe rentals and shoreline fishing. Hosts are described as friendly and responsive; facilities include a clean shower house, flushing toilets, accessible hookups, picnic tables and fire rings. Sites tend to be close together and are better suited to RVs or small groups; tent campers may notice traffic noise from the nearby byway and occasional neighborhood/park noise. Driveways to some lots can be steep. Overall a cozy, convenient base for Duluth-area hiking and biking, with easy reservations and on-site firewood.
