What campers say
Fanning Springs State Park is a well-maintained riverfront spring with clear, turquoise water and a shaded boardwalk offering multiple viewing spots and benches. There’s a $6 per-car entrance fee, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, a small on-site store, and canoe/boat access to the Suwannee River. The spring is popular for swimming and snorkeling—mask and snorkel recommended—with mostly shallow sandy areas, ladders/step-ins and some deeper spots where fish (and occasional manatee sightings) have been reported. It can be busy on weekends but quieter on weekdays, making it an easy, family-friendly day visit.
