Visitors appreciate the peaceful, shaded paths, varied loop lengths, wildlife sightings, and spots for sitting or wading by the river. It’s dog-friendly and has ample parking and a visitor center for orientation. Practical trade-offs: several trails and a footbridge still show storm or flood damage and remain closed in places, and some routes labeled “easy” can be moderate or challenging for small children, older adults, or less-fit dogs. Bring supplies and pack out waste, as occasional litter has been reported.
