While driving Hwy 50 we stopped here overnight. Located in one of the coldest cities in America and their water pipes are not properly insulated. All their spigots froze so there was no water in the morning. Paid nearly /$45 for one night to park in their gravel/ dirt and sleep. Avoid not worth it.

What campers say
Set on high‑desert terrain just outside Ely, this KOA offers clean, well-maintained facilities, cabin and covered-wagon rentals, RV and tent spaces, a dog park, and a horse corral. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and mountain views plus nearby OHV, biking and hiking trails make it a convenient base; downtown services are only a short drive. Practical tradeoffs: sites are all gravel, some pads slope or sit nearer the highway, and laundry coin‑operated machines are older. Bathrooms and showers are generally reported as clean and reliable.
