Doddridge County Park Campground and RV Park in West Union West Virginia provides full hookup RV camping, tent camping and yurts in a county run park. Recently developed and opened (2018) the facility provides backin style RV sites across the river from the main campground. Hiking trails and park amenities are available. A restroom with showers is available as is a small store. The park is also home to the Doddridge County High School cross county team, which uses the park for conditioning purposes. In addition to those activities, the Doddridge County Park is also surrounded by the Meathouse Fork Creek. The creek offers kayakers an opportunity to set their vessels in the water and take a leisurely float around the park until they reach the take-out spot. The creek also offers fishing opportunities for various species of fish, including bluegill, muskie, bass and catfish. Doddridge County Park Campground and RV Park has multiple shelters, a pool, volleyball courts, baseball fields and basketball courts a children’s playground suitable for kids 5 and up and a Little Tykes play area for smaller children to use.
