What campers say
Devils Canyon Campground is a high-elevation (about 7,000 ft) Forest Service site near Monticello with pine-shaded camps, plentiful hiking and wildlife, and dark night skies. The loop contains an older, quieter section and a newer, more open section with sites closer together; several paved pull-throughs can accommodate a 30' motorhome. Facilities are basic: maintained vault toilets and fire rings, but no reliable potable water or dump station—bring your own water and expect primitive amenities. Visitors note cool summer temperatures and welcoming hosts, though occasional highway noise and strong winds have been reported. Fees are modest.
