What campers say

Curt Gowdy State Park offers scenic reservoirs, well-marked hikes (Hidden Falls, Shoreline), abundant wildlife and good fishing. The park supports mountain biking, kayaking and paddleboard rentals, an archery range, showers and on-site firewood; many campsites have RV electric hookups which can help on cold nights. Summer weekends and holidays can be busy, and most lakefront sites are reservation-only then, though some primitive first-come, first-served areas remain. Day-use permits are required and fees differ for residents and nonresidents. Site surfaces and slope can vary, so expect uneven spots at times.
