Cross Ranch State Park is a well-kept, family-friendly riverfront park with cabins, yurts and a variety of campsites. Wide, mostly easy trails follow the Little Missouri River with shaded sections, good wildlife viewing and river vistas; some routes include stairs, hills and limited signage. The visitor center is active and helpful, offering exhibits, rentals and a small gift area. Kayak and canoe rentals are available with ranger assistance and life jackets. Practical notes: the river can be shallow and cold even in summer, and some visitors find fishing access limited. Overall a pleasant spot for hiking, paddling and camping.
