Crooked Creek State Recreation Site is best known for easy river access and strong salmon fishing, with paved parking, wide open lots and clear walking paths and steps down to the Kasilof River. Facilities are well maintained — clean compost-style restrooms, picnic tables, fire rings with grates and a pump well for water — and it accommodates tents, RVs and dogs. Campsites are close together with limited privacy, and the site becomes crowded during peak runs, so expect busy shorelines. Boating and shore fishing are popular; basic safety and preparation are recommended.
